You will fly into Kigali airport, and thereafter cross over to Uganda via Katuna or Cyanika border to trek Uganda gorillas. TOUR DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Arrival – city tour & transfer to Bwindi Forest

On your first day of this tour, a specialized driver guide from our company will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or the airport. He/she will brief you on the flow of the itinerary, which activities to do and when. Begin your trip with a Kigali city tour to enjoy the calmness and quietness of this small city.

The clean streets of Kigali make you feel like driving over and over again. Also, visit some key tourist destinations in Kigali including the Kigali genocide memorial Centre, Kigali Convention center, Kimironko market, Inema Art gallery and if possible hike to the top of Mount. Kigali for great views.

You will have lunch and in the afternoon drive out of the City crossing over to Uganda. Clear with the immigration at Katuna or Cyanika Border and embark on a drive to Bwindi Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & Departure to Kigali

Finally, the day to see the endangered gorillas has come! Today you will wake up very early, have a cup of coffee and with your packed lunch drive to the respective park headquarters. Bwindi Forest has four headquarters in four gorilla regions.

After registering with the park, you will be assembled for a pre gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the endangered gorillas. The park rangers will also put you in groups of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit. The trek to meet the gorillas start at 8:00 am lasting for between 30 minutes to over 7 hours depending on where gorillas will be that day.

However, whichever time you spend hiking, you are 99% assured of meeting the endangered gorillas. Once you meet them, the clock starts ticking for strictly an hour and your gorilla encounter will be counted done. Remember to keep calm and use this hour wisely to take pictures, capture live videos and embrace the human like characters of the endangered gorillas.

The hike through Bwindi Forest gives you chance to meet other wild animals in the park such as baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, African elephants and different bird species. Trek back to the starting point and pick your gorilla trekking certificate. Your driver guides will thereafter drive you back to Kigali via Katuna boarder.
